About SheFarms

We Saw the Opportunity Everyone Else Called Waste

SheFarms exists because two of West Africa's biggest agricultural problems turn out to be the same problem. And the same problem always has one solution.

The Problem Was Always the Opportunity

Across West Africa, two crises run side by side. Mountains of agricultural residues pile up with nowhere to go — a burden on land, water, and the communities that depend on both. And at the same time, feed costs swallow 60 to 70% of every livestock farmer's income, squeezing livelihoods to the point where farming barely makes sense.

SheFarms was founded on the conviction that these are not two problems. They are one opportunity.

That conviction drove deep research, a rigorous partnership with KNUST, and the development of LoopFeed™ — a circular feed system that turns what the land discards into what farmers need most. We are now working with 400 farmers in Lagos, measuring every result, and building the roadmap that takes this across West Africa.

"Circular systems provide oxygen to the entrepreneurial ecosystem of a society. They transform what was once discarded into the fuel for innovation, prosperity, and regeneration."
— Tiambi Simms, Co-Founder

Where We Stand Today

  • KNUST research partnership and scientific co development
  • Laboratory validation and nutritional analysis complete
  • Technology development and quality protocols established
  • Ikorodu hub, Lagos — operational base secured
  • 400 farmer Lagos programme actively underway
  • RVO Netherlands research funding

Our Mission

We build circular agriculture systems that turn discarded agricultural residues into economic power for farmers. Every tonne transformed is a cost cut, a livelihood strengthened, and a carbon footprint reduced. This is what progress in African agriculture looks like.

Our Vision

A West Africa where nothing from the farm goes to waste. Where farmers are not at the mercy of imported feed prices. Where the land feeds itself — and the people on it — in a continuous, regenerating loop that grows stronger every season.

Our Values

Circularity

Every output becomes an input. We design systems where waste has no place because everything carries value. The loop is not just our model. It is our worldview.

Scientific Rigour

We do not guess. Every formulation is grounded in evidence developed with KNUST. Every claim is one we can stand behind. We earn the right to scale by getting the science right first.

Farmers First

We build with farmers, not for them. Their knowledge shapes our technology. Their success is our only real measure. Women farmers are not an afterthought here. They are the centre of everything we build.

Integrity

We say what we mean and do what we say. We are clear about where we are and where we are going. No inflated claims, no borrowed credibility. Just the work, done honestly.

Regeneration

Sustainability is the floor, not the ceiling. We are here to restore. Restore economies, restore land, restore the confidence of farmers who have been told the system does not work for them. It will.

Bold Thinking

The most valuable resources in West African agriculture are the ones everyone else ignores. We look where others do not. We build what others say cannot be done. That is not ambition for its own sake. It is how circular systems get built.

Built Through Partnership

Research Co Development

Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST)

Collaborative research on LoopFeed™ bioprocessing, nutritional analysis, and feed safety. KNUST developed the core fermentation formulations and conducted laboratory validation.

Research Funding

RVO Netherlands

Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland provided research funding supporting the development of LoopFeed™ and the science behind our circular feed system.

Agricultural Network

Ubuntu Farms

Agricultural network and distribution expertise supporting SheFarms' programme design and farmer engagement across our West African operations.

Recent Developments

2025
SheFarms receives RVO Netherlands research funding for LoopFeed™ development

Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland confirms institutional support enabling SheFarms' first real-world deployment of the LoopFeed™ circular feed system with 400 farmers at our Ikorodu facility in Lagos.

2024
KNUST laboratory validation of LoopFeed™ formulations complete
